Sculpture: Man on Trestle, by renowned Armagh-born artist Carolyn Mulholland.

Carolyn Mulholland was born in 1944 in Lurgan, County Armagh. She attended the Belfast College of Art. Carolyn has completed major sculptural commissions for institutions across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Works include a life-size bronze sculpture for the famine memorial graveyard in Clones, Co. Monaghan, Group, a private commission of three eight-foot-tall bronze figures and Man with Kite, a large bronze panel for the new Customs House in Dublin.

Carolyn`s sculpture Man on Trestle pictured here is now on view for all to enjoy as they stroll along the canal. The sculpture is near the bridge on Leeson Street.
This is a new addition to the canal, added following a public-private partnership that has seen major upgrades to the area. The project, co-funded by Waterways Ireland and IPUT Real Estate Dublin, “celebrates the canal, its rich cultural heritage and biodiversity”.
