Irish artist Tim Hawkesworth

Timothy Hawkesworth is an Irish artist, he studied history and political science at Trinity College Dublin. After college he emigrated to the US in 1977. Hawkesworth exhibited his art in New York since the early 1980’s as well as other cities around the country and in Europe.

In 1987 he received his MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts/Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1972 and 1974 he won the Trinity College Art Award and in 2002 was awarded a Ballinglen Arts Foundation Fellowship. Hawkesworth is still living in the US three decades later, where he continues to teach and exhibit.

His work has received considerable critical attention including reviews in the New York Times, Art News, the New Yorker, the LA Times, the Boston Globe and the Irish Times.
Hawksworth’s writing has also been published by several art magazines.
